It has taken all summer, well may would argue all year, to shift Tal Ben-Haim but FINALLY this has been confirmed.

The drawback is this is ONLY a 5-month loan…

A move to West Ham, which has fallen through on a couple of occasions, has happened although quite why this is only a loan is beyond me given the fact that he has a relegation release clause that allows him to leave on a free!

Quite clearly this must, almost certainly, mean we are paying a small, medium, large or even all of his wages – I bet we have not got a loan fee either?

Although there have been some ‘rumours’ that West Ham are covering the wages – the fact it is a loan implies not and seems odd, why not have just signed him on a ‘short-term’ contract? So, I cannot see anything other than us paying some, no doubt a large amount, of these wages…

Jamie Ashdown is not going to be one player going to West Ham though, by all accounts.

It was ‘said’ that they had made a ‘late enquiry’ for him, although a 2-year contract will be signed at Fratton this week.
