End Of The Line For Naismith?

|

I’ve absolutely nothing against the guy, far from it, but recent weeks, in the main, have suggested Kal Naismith will not be at Fratton Park next season?

Naismith’s had an up and down spell with Pompey, seemingly heading for the exit more than once before turning a corner. His form when he came back into the side for the second half of last season was the catalyst for our League Two title success, this can’t be doubted.

However, it’s been a mixed bag for the Scot this time around. In and out of the side, Naismith was, admittedly, unlucky with an injury earlier in the season when he was showing some good form.

Maybe I’m being unfair, but his performance in defeat against Charlton on Saturday was that of a man who appears to have decided he isn’t signing a new contract at the club? In fairness, he wasn’t alone in being some way off the pace.

He is a player I wouldn’t be against having as part of our squad in the future, but perhaps the time for parting is right? Yep, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Naismith go, as I wouldn’t Kenny Jackett deciding to drop the forward against Bury. Not that Naismith is the only one I would bench at Gigg Lane!
