Pompey have been rocked by the news that Sylvain Distin has ‘expressed a desire to leave’ the club.

Paul Hart told The Quay that he had a nasty gash ahead of the league cup win but the club captain is also said to have expressed a desire to leave amid a ‘reported’ interest from Everton.

Some way for the club captain and actually captain to act isn’t it! Why leave it until the end of the transfer window to decide this!

As far as I am concerned ‘if’ he wants out, let him out as it will not help us one iota keeping him if he does not want to be here – I just wish that he had decided this sooner rather than later, although his showing against Arsenal was not exactly a man that looked like he saw a long-term future at the club…

I had wanted him to leave as I questioned his commitment, then I was happy that he was staying as I felt we needed him, but ‘if’ – as said – he wants out we need to get him out really do we not?
