Papa Bouba Diop makes a quick return to Fulham this weekend when we travel to Craven Cottage to take on his former employers – and as he has told the Pompey Site this is something that he is looking forward to: ‘It will be a good test for us, but we go to Fulham full of confidence.

‘I’m happy to go back to Craven Cottage because I made a lot of friends there. I think it will be a good game’.

It goes without saying that he will be looking forward to returning to Fulham again, he spent 3 years with the club having some very good times.

He also spoke about how this match will be different to the Reading game we witnessed at Fortress Fratton last weekend, which it will be but with them also happy to score the goals as well as concede more than their fair share this season we could see some goals this weekend too? And I will not be betting against them – no doubt it will be a damp squib now and end up at 0-0!

Many – myself included – were sceptical about Bouba Diop signing, but he has taken to life with Pompey remarkably well, with his performances so far more than justifying Harry Redknapp’s eagerness to sign the big Senegalese star. He is looking like the player that was so highly rated a few years back that Arsenal were reported to be interested in him and a shadow of the poor player we witnessed against us for Fulham last season.

I think I will have a cheeky bet on him to open his Pompey account this weekend fellas, but will also have a few quid on us to win away from home again!
