Another player has departed Pompey, although this time this decision is one that they have made.

Lubomir Michalik’s contract expires on Tuesday and he has decided not to extend it.

The News reports that he has made the club aware of this decision and will be joining a club abroad.

I thought the guy started well enough but then some poor, and needless, errors crept into his game with him eventually slipping out of the 1st team picture, as far as a starter went anyway.

Given the wages we STILL seem to be dishing out if he is not playing that much, although most likely on pretty good cash, it is probably best he did leave and we turn to someone else that wants to be here and on a more affordable wage…

Do not get me wrong I can appreciate players want security, so if he can get this at another club good luck to him, but we need (and want) players here that want to be here.

If that means an increased influx of ‘development squad’ players into the 1st team squad and starting 11 so be it and bring it on!
