Davis wants to feel ‘wanted’

I do not know if it is The News being ‘mischievous’ or not but the way they put across the ‘apparent’ latest thoughts from Sean Davis on his Pompey future are that he claims he wants to feel ‘wanted’ by the club.

The fact that he had been offered a new 3-year contract on improved terms to me seems to be enough evidence that he is ‘wanted’ – I am not quite sure what else he actually wants?

Like I have said before he was banging on about wanting to stay at Pompey, how much he wanted this in fact, but nothing was being done about a new contract – and this is something that he had said more than once… It is said that he has actually been offered a contract more than once, but nothing has been signed… I get this feeling he was not expecting a new deal, so this would give him a clear run to have left, the offer has unbalanced things…

Keeping ‘options open’ is fine, but these latest thoughts do annoy me a bit as he has been offered a new deal, and been offered more money, so I am not quite sure what else he wants?

I do feel for him in some ways as we have hawked him around left right and centre over the last couple of years, trying to sell him to whoever and wherever we could, so now the boot is on the other foot he can make us squirm a bit!

But, when all is said and done, he either wants to stay or he wants to go, so what is it?

You said you wanted to stay Seany, this option has been made available to you, but you have so far declined it, now you again say you want to feel ‘wanted’ – and to be fair this ‘might’ just be The News rehashing older news? Either way, for me a long-term contract and more money seems you are wanted but I am now moving back to the ‘you do not actually want to stay anyway’ thoughts now…

Storrie hints at Hart stay?

Not for the first time Peter Storrie has suggested that Paul Hart will remain at Fratton as manager next season, but this time he seems to have given the clearest indication yet that a decision has already been made?

It would appear that he wants him to stay, and almost admitted it is decided before adding an ‘if type thing’ into the equation: ‘if they take the job on full-time and that’s the decision we make, I think you’ll see a completely different thing next season.’

The thoughts ‘Pompey fans would see mouth-watering football next season’ appeals to me, but I am still having my reservation that we actually would see much difference – only time would tell I guess…

Anyway, make of this comments what you will, but they do seem to be the clearest indicator yet that his mind is made up on who he wants, so we might be left with the decision of Paul Hart deciding that this is not what he wants?

Thoughts on all as always are welcomed guys – make comments below…
