From the names most commonly linked with Pompey Peter Crouch is the one that we want! Not my vote, yours – although these findings from whitestones’ poll are thoughts that I do not share to be honest.

I was a very big fan of Crouch when he was first at Fratton, and although not everyone has been keen on him over the years I have always thought that he was a better footballer than he was given credit for, so I would welcome a return – and do not think this would mean us playing ‘a long ball game’ as this is not our way, nor is it his, he does not like this as he likes it to feet.

Leroy Lita is a player that I like, so would happily also see him at Pompey but as most of you will know I have always had this feeling that we will see Jermain Defoe at Pompey sometime this season. I was sure that it would happen last summer, when it did not I still felt that January could be the time, and it still could.

When I was up in Birmingham yesterday I was told that Crouch had apparently been in the area viewing a new home, so it looks as though Villa Park could be his destination, with it also said that Defoe is another that is being very closely linked and could well join him…

What the poll asked – Which one of these player talked about in the media would you most like to see in a Pompey uniform?

How you voted – Peter Crouch 41%, Leroy Lita 21%, Jermaine Defoe 18%, Andres D’Alessandro 12%, Jonas Gutierrez 4%, Gyan Asamoah 4%

Current Poll – Benjani started the season like a house on fire with the goals he was scoring, but these had dried up a bit recently, so is he still the man to top our scoring chats?

The goals have been shared around a fair bit more recently, and the goals that Benjani is now scoring have dried up a little. Will he still be the fella to finish as out top scorer this season or will it be someone else – this is what Et_tu_Pompeii wants to know with this – ‘so who now will finish the season as our top scorer?’ Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.
