TWO FROM THREE AGAIN

With Villa?s defeat of Birmingham it?s once again a two from three scenario at the foot of the table, the win over Boro? has taken on a greater significance now, survival is in Pompey?s hands and only we can throw it away now.

Birmingham will hurt by their defeat doubly so now, a first defeat at Villa Park in the premiership and a gap of three points between themselves and Pompey. One team in blue will definitely drop now, it?s Pompeys duty to make sure it?s not us.

Charlton are renowned for starting every season quickly and finishing awfully, I sincerely hope we compound this by winning our third visit to the capital in a month.

Pompey will be hoping Lua Lua?s ankle injury has cleared up as Todorov appears to be struggling with a thigh strain, if not the onus will be further on Benjani to break his duck at the Valley.

Speculation mounts that D?allesandro will be given a rest along with Linvoy at the back, but I feel Harry Redknapp won?t want to alter his starting eleven too much and will go for as close a same eleven as possible, after all who needs a rest when the adrenalin of a relegation scrap is flowing and only four games remain!

Charlton may make changes to their team after the defeat to Fulham, as they still have aspirations of a top ten finish, but they will look to the free scoring Bent duo to bail out their recently poor defence.

While only six short weeks ago the relegation trap-door seemed wide open, Pompey have managed to crawl back from the abyss and a win over the Addicks will go a long way to slamming the door back shut, and thus condemn the Midlands to one Premiership club.

Play up Pompey
