It was expected to be a season long loan deal but Bournemouth have completed the signing of defender Jason Pearce – although my thinking was this was always something that was likely to happen.

He had been playing for Bournemouth during pre season – even against Pompey our 4-1 victory over them when he also accidentally injured John Utaka – and has done enough to earn himself a 2 year contract.

I have not seen him play – apart from what I saw of him against us for Bournemouth – before but he was tipped, by the papers, as a player to ‘watch out for’ last season, but things did not really work out as planned.

Good luck to him with the Cherries though, no doubt our paths will cross again.
