Bell Leaves Blues

Portsmouth Football Club’s commercial director, Paul Bell is to leave the club at the end of the year to join Leeds United.

Paul, who is returning to his native north, has been with Pompey for four-and-a-half years and has been responsible for securing all sponsorship deals. He will join the League One leaders in the new year as director of commercial affairs.

Peter Storrie, Pompey’s chief executive, said: “Paul has done an excellent job and has been responsible for growing and developing our commercial partners programme.

“He has formed excellent relationships with our portfolio of partners and was the person who persuaded Jobsite to become our main club sponsor in the summer, the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.

“Paul is well-liked and respected at the club and within the industry and he will be sadly missed. We all wish him well with Leeds United.”

Paul said: “Over the past four-and-a-half years I have been fortunate to be part of some fantastic times at the club.

“I am immensely proud of what I have achieved with Portsmouth, from leading the overhaul of the retail and hospitality divisions to developing the brand of Portsmouth Football Club and creating the PFC Commercial Partners programme.

“I have made many great friends on the south coast and I will always have fond memories of my time here. I wish Peter and the rest of the team all the very best for the future.”
