Once again, despite being told we ‘were on’ schedule with our (re)takeover bid from Balram Chainrai we are seeing this delayed, again…
Admin Andy, talking on Radio Solent, said: ‘this hiatus is not helping the football club. In fact, from week to week we seem to be going one or two steps backwards.
‘We’ve certainly implemented sufficient cost rationalisation to make the club viable.’
Then today, in his typical confrontational way, he has laid the blame down to the football league saying that their ‘bureaucracy’ on administrative issues is causing the delay, ‘claiming’ that things are 99.9% sorted…
To me, and I could be very wrong, this could be due to one of two things.
One is that the longer it takes the less committed to this it would seem that Chainrai is? As if he was really as committed as we are led to believe that he is why is it taking so long to supply the relevant information that is needed and satisfy the football league? It also seems more and more that it is a ‘short-term’ solution is all he wants as he looks to get a return on his ‘investment’, which is fair enough I guess. So it would also seem more likely that his intentions are to find a buyer, sooner rather than later. Again, this is fine but the worry of being dumped with anyone, the likes of your Rob Lloyd’s and Tom Lever’s is always in the mind!
Given that we want to ensure that we get an owner that is what we need then the football league requiring a higher level of satisfaction should not be viewed as a bad thing really, should it?
Talking of owners though this brings us onto tracyc’s recent Milan Mandaric poll, with the former owner still holding plenty of admirers…
No thanks 34%
Only if he doesn’t bring Lloyd or Lever with him 7%
Again, as previously said, I see the benefits and the thoughts behind this to a degree – better the devil you know and all that – but I still, despite his obvious feelings for the club, have reservations about him and cannot look past his shortcomings in many ways.
Another major concern are his recent thoughts that he would be willing to ‘go in’ with someone, again that someone could be Lloyd, Lever and, arguably worst of all, someone that is ‘said’ to have, or have had, a connection to both of these ‘wannabe’ owners, a certain Storrieteller.
Whatever our continued wait for a new, or returning, owner goes on – then again I guess it is better for this to take time and for it to be the right one than some shyster coming in and leaving us un the same position…
PLAY UP POMPEY!
