A Season’s Turning Point?

An article from jsander48 with the view that ‘maybe, just maybe’ today could be the turning point in our season? Read on for more.

Next game looks, Appy’s 4th game in charge and he is split with a 1-1-1 record since taking over at Pompey, like it could be a turning point perhaps. We’ve finally seemed to have taken over the reins of our disciplinary stats, and only recorded 8 bookings in the last 8 games since Cotts left for Nottingham.

Today’s game is a vital match in Pompey’s aim to finish mid-table. In the worst-case scenario we could pull the same performance we did against Watford and walk away with our tail between our legs, which in this case would cost us dearly considering we are only three points above the drop.

With Lawro still injured and likely not to start, there is also some controversy about Ben Haim possibly leaving, not that it matters, Appy would have started Mattock anyway. But the table seems to be as of much concern as of the off-pitch situation. Speaking of off-field concerns as all of you know CSI led Pompey into a horrid week last week but we ended on a high by grabbing up all three points in a well-performed and expected win over Coventry.

Hopefully we can scoop up all the points at Turf Moor but unfortunately I have to be realistic or as some fans would call me pessimistic. Sometimes you have to face the truth which is something Pompey fans unfortunately have to face often. Burnley is a great team and they can easily string passes together. They are a team that is very capable of beating our vulnerable defence.

Players to watch: Sam Vokes (Burnley) Erik the Viking (Pompey)
jsander48 Prediction: 2-0 Burnley.
Other big games to look for over the weekend are: Derby v. Bristol, Leeds v. Watford and Peterborough v. Leicester which are key games that will have a huge influence in the table for us.
