Amazing old news and some fantastic new news as Pompey have stepped up their search for quality players. There are some new stories in this article and some old news. All this information has come from a director within the club and/or a friend with links to the club. (We are expecting Peter Storrie to comment on these stories Monday!)

FIRST UP- DEFOE

Portsmouth have apparently had a twelve million pound bid rejected for Jermain Defoe. Defoe is apparently unhappy at Tottenham but the demands of 15m will probably prove too much for Portsmouth.

SECOND- TONY ADAMS

Apparently Tony Adams will get the Pompey number two job however he is not the only one in the frame. Vital Pompey used a fake email address to apply for the post and the response was as follows;

“Portsmouth already have two final candidates, apologise for the delay.”

I`m gutted! Tony Adams is thought to have spoke to Harry recently with the other thought to be Jamie Redknapp, although the club did not rule out the possibility of Paul Merson returning.

THIRD UP- SOL CAMPBELL

Portsmouth are thought to be hot on the trail of Sol Campbell although the players 40k wage demands may be a problem. Arsenal are expecting to receive an enquiry from Portsmouth this week although no deal will be done until after the world cup.

FOURTH UP- SHAUN WRIGHT- PHILIPS

This is a “vital Pompey” exclusive! Portsmouth are fighting Charlton to get the player on loan from Chelsea. Portsmouth have already spoke to Shaun recently and the player is thought to be keen on the move.

Redknapp BBC Sport last week: ‘Myself and Peter have met with a good player who we’d very much like to sign for a chat and hopefully we’ll get something done there.

‘I won’t be naming him, but it just shows that we’re trying to get things done here.’

Chelsea where originally going to let the player go on loan to Charlton as they owe them for a loan after Carlton Cole only served half of his loan deal. It is thought that Frank Lampard, of all people, tipped Harry off about the availability of the player. If this deal goes through along with the Sol and Defoe deal, ITS GOING TO BE EXCITING TIMES FOR THE CLUB!

BBC pundit and former England manager Graham Taylor told BBC Radio Five Live: ‘If all this happens it will give a clear message to the Portsmouth supporters that says ‘we really want to take this club forward.”

I have more good news in my stadium investigation with the first edition this afternoon. (Rossi is also likely to join Charlton on Loan)
